AMY MUSTAFA. GOOD AFTERNOON PRESIDENT GARZA AND BOARD MEMBERS. I AM HERE TODAY TO URGE YOU TO GIVE THE DISTRICT AUTHORITY TO AGREE TO BTA SALARY PROPOSAL.

YESTERDAY'S BARGAINING WAS VERY PRODUCTIVE.

BTA FEELS VERY POSITIVE ABOUT THE DISTRICT'S WILLING -- WILLINGNESS TO LISTEN AND COLLABORATE.

WE ARE CLOSE TO HAVING AN AGREEMENT ON SKAL VEE -- SALARY.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. CHANGE IS ON THE HORIZON AND TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN. BELLFLOWER CAN BE THE DISTRICT THAT FAMILIES, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WANT TO BE A PART OF.

BUSD IS HAVING TROUBLE HIRING AND RETAINING STAFF WITH OUR CURRENT SALARY SCHEDULE. YOU HAVE TAKEN MANY STEPS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! I URGE YOU TO LET GO OF THE PREVIOUS MIND-SET OF SCARCITY AND FEAR.

USD HAS ALWAYS SAVED MONEY FOR A RAINY DAY.

WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY RAINING, THE DISTRICT DID NOT SPEND THE MONEY. AS A RESULT OF THIS, THE RESERVE CONTINUED TO GROW. THERE IS PLENTY OF ONGOING MONEY. GIVING TEACHERS THE MONEY WE DESERVE IS NOT GOING TO HURT THE DISTRICT FINANCIALLY.

THE DISTRICT IS VERY HEALTHY AND IT IS TIME TO COMPENSATE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK WITH THE STUDENTS.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MOVE BUSD TOWARDS SUCCESS BY COMPENSATING THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING WITH STUDENTS EVERY DAY.

WE TAUGHT AND WE PERSEVERED WITHOUT LEADERSHIP FOR MOST OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR. TEACHERS CAN BE COUNTED ON TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE KID. IT IS TIME TO COMPENSATE THE TEACHERS. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW.

I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. MY FIRST QUESTION IS, WHAT DO WE HAVE IN COMMON WITH TEACHERS IN SURROUNDING DISTRICTS? WE ALL LESSON PLAN, TEACH CONTENT, SERVE ON COMMITTEES, PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES, TAKE CARE OF STUDENTS, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. MY NEXT QUESTION IS WHAT DO WE

NOT HAVE IN COMMON WITH THESE TEACHERS AND SURROUNDING DISTRICTS? I CAME UP WITH TWO THINGS.

A HUGE RESERVE AND COMPARABLE PAY.

WE DO THE SAME JOB, BUT WE DO NOT GET PAID CLOSE TO WHAT THEY GET. ALL OF THESE DISTRICTS PAY THEIR TEACHERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MORE PER YEAR.

SOME OF THOSE DISTRICTS PAY MORE THAN $20,000 MORE PER YEAR.

OUR RESERVE INCREASES EVERY YEAR EVEN THOUGH THE BUDGET IS PROPOSED AS A YEAR OF DEFICIT SPENDING.

YET, AT THE END OF EVERY YEAR, WE HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAT WERE NOT SPENT AND PUT INTO THE RESERVES.

WHY CAN'T YOU AFFORD TO PAY US A COMPETITIVE SALARY? WE'VE HEARD VARIOUS REASONS, DEFICIT SPENDING DECLINING ENROLLMENT AND SAVING FOR A RAINY DAY.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE ENDED THE YEAR IN A DEFICIT? ENROLLMENT IS DECLINING ALL OVER THE STATE, BUT OTHER DISTRICTS GIVE THEIR EMPLOYEES GOOD RAISES.

WE JUST WENT THROUGH THE BIGGEST RAINY DAY OF ALL, THE PANDEMIC.

YET, THE DISTRICT DIDN'T HAVE TO SPEND THE RESERVE AND ACTUALLY ADDED TO THE RESERVE IN THE PANDEMIC.

THE REASONING DOES NOT SUPPORT THE CLAIM THAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY US A COMPARABLE SALARY. SO WHY DON'T WE DESERVE TO BE PAID AS TEACHERS ARE IN SURROUNDING DISTRICTS? WE DOT SAME JOB AND WORK JUST AS HARD AS THEY DO.

SOME ARE EDUCATORS, AND YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WE PUT INTO THIS JOB.

OTHER DISTRICTS DEAL WITH THE SAME ISSUES BUSD DOES, YET THEY CONTINUE TO GIVE THEIR EMPLOYEES GOOD RAISES.

WHEN THE RESERVE GOES UP EVERY YEAR BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY USING THE MONEY YOU WERE GIVEN, YOU SEND A MESSAGE TO THE STAFF THAT WE ARE NOT VALUED.

TODAY IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOU THAT YOU VALUE THE ROLE WE PLAY IN EDUCATING THE STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY.

WE WORK HARD EVERY DAY AND DESERVE TO BE PAID A COMPARABLE SALARY TO TEACHERS IN SURROUNDING DISTRICTS.

FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, YOUR HEART WILL FOLLOW.

IF SOMETHING IS OF VALUE TO YOU, IT IS EVIDENT BY YOUR PRIORITIES. FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS, IT HAS BEEN VERY EVIDENT THAT THE PRIORITIES IN BUSD HAVE BEEN TO SAVE MONEY AND BUILD A HUGE RESERVE.

IT HAS NOT BEEN TO SERVE OUR STUDENTS OR TAKE CARE OF EMPLOYEES IN THE DISTRICT. I AM HERE THIS AFTERNOON TO ASK THAT YOU CONTINUE THE TIDES OF CHANGE AND THE HEALING FOR OUR DISTRICT. I AM ASKING THAT YOU MAKE THE CHANGES NECESSARY TO PAY OUR TEACHERS A FAIR WAGE.

YOUR TEACHERS ENDURED EXCESSIVE CHANGE AT SITES, LACK OF ADEQUATE SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF AND INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT WORKING CONDITIONS ALL WHILE OUR DISTRICT HAS MADE BROKEN PROMISES ABOUT FUTURE COMPENSATION AND CLAIMED THAT WE WERE ON THE VERGE OF BANKRUPTCY WITH EVERY FINANCIAL REPORT.

AFTER LOOKING AT THE COMPENSATION FOR THE SURROUNDING DISTRICTS, IT IS CLEAR YOUR TEACHERS ARE IN CRISIS.

I'M TIRED FOR FIGHTING FOR WHAT MY TEACHERS DESERVE YEAR AFTER YEAR, THE WORK TO RULE, THE LACK OF FEELING VALUED AS WORKING CONDITIONS GET HARDER AND HARDER.

STUDENTS ARE COMING OUT OF A PANDEMIC WITH AN ACADEMIC DEFICIT. THEY ARE EMOTIONALLY SCARED AND -- SCARRED AND IT BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT.

ALL TO FIND OUT I MAKE 18 TO 22% LESS THAN TEACHERS IN THE NEIGHBORING DISTRICT. I LISTENED TO MANY TEACHERS TALK ABOUT LEAVING THE DISTRICT. WHO CAN BLAME THEM? MAYBE IT IS TIME TO PACK UP OUR MARBLES AND GO HOME.

YOUNGER TEACHERS ARE SEEING THAT THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO STAY, WHILE OLDER TEACHERS ARE BEING OFFERED MORE YEARS OF SERVICE CREDIT IN SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. WITH AN INCREASE IN PAY AND THE HOPE OF BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS THAN WE HAVE AT BUSD.

WE ALSO HAVE MANY TEACHERS NEAR RETIREMENT AGE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO RETIRE WITH THE CURRENT COST OF LIVING.

IMAGINE WHAT $20,000 A YEAR COULD GO TO CHANGE THEIR LIVES.

I'M CERTAIN EVERY MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL BOARD WOULD FIGHT TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THEIR OWN FAMILIES.

I HOPE NOW IT IS THE SAME PASSION THAT YOU FIGHT TO MAKE YOUR EMPLOYEES' WAGES EQUITABLE TO THE SURROUNDING DISTRICTS.

MANY PEOPLE'S FUTURES ARE IN LIMBO BASED ON YOUR OFFER FOR COMPENSATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

I MENTION MY GENERATION BECAUSE ON MONDAY DR. DROTTI VISITED MAY FAIR AND HE SAID TO US MY GENERATION CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY A HOUSE, AND HE'S RIGHT.

THE SAD REALITY IS, THAT'S THE ONE THING I ONLY EVER WANTED.

MY SISTER IS A TEACHER AND TEACHES TK IN MORENO VALLEY.

IF I WAS TEACHING OVER THERE, I WOULD BE MAKING $8,000 MORE AND MY RENT EACH MONTH WOULD BE A THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS.

INNING -- INSTEAD, MY RENT JUST WENT UP $200 A MONTH.

THE PAY HAS NOT RISEN TO MEET THAT COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT.

I COME TO YOU TODAY TO ASK YOURSELVES WHY IT IS THAT A TEACHER WHO WORKS FOR BELLFLOWER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CANNOT AFFORD A HOME IN THE BELLFLOWER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHY IS IT IF I WENT TO ONE OF OUR NEIGHBORS I COULD BE MAKING ANYWHERE BETWEEN 8,000 AND 12,000 MORE WORKING WITH A SIMILAR DEMOGRAPHIC OF STUDENT? WE CLAIM TO BUILD FUTURES HERE. IT'S ALL AROUND US.

WE GOT TO INTRODUCE THEM TO OUR CLUBS AND WHAT WE DO, ATHLETICS AND STUFF THEY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HERE AT BELLFLOWER. AND THEN WE ALSO DID OUR 14 DAYS OF VALENTINES WHICH IS ONGOING. WE DID DAY 9 TODAY, AND THAT PICTURE RIGHT THERE IS OUR FIRST ONE WITH OUR ASB PRESIDENT ANTHONY AGUILLAR ALONG WITH THE SENIOR CHOICE, 8 DREE-- ADRIAN.

AND WE ARE DOING COUNSELOR WEEK THIS WEEK WHERE WE HONOR OUR COUNSELORS FOR ALL OF THE HARD WORK THEY ARE DOING.

THEY ARE VERY STRESSED OUT AND VERY BUSY DOING OUR SCHEDULES FOR NEXT YEAR. AND WE WANT TO SHOW THEM APPRECIATION AND THAT WE LOVE THEM AND APPRECIATE ALL OF THE HARD WORK THEY ARE DOING FOR US. UPCOMING EVENTS IS A RENAISSANCE RALLY WHERE WE HONOR THE STUDENTS ON THE HONOR ROLE AND WE GIVE THEM A LEI AND HONOR THEM AND GIVE TROE -- TROPHIES TO THOSE WHO WE FEEL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND. WE HAVE THE CIF GAMES.

OUR SOCCER TEAM MADE IT TO CIF, GIRLS AND BOYS.

WE HAD A TAIWAN LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION FROM OUR CHINESE CLUB. THEY BROUGHT A DRAGON WHICH IS ALWAYS A HUGE ATTRACTION TO OUR STUDENTS.

IT IS FUN TO SEE THE PER TPOFRPL MANS AND IT IS SO -- PERFORMANCE AND WE LOVE IT. WE HAVE OUR UNIFIED BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. WE HOSTED IT AT OUR SCHOOL AND WE HAD SCHOOLS COME SUCH AS WARREN AND LA MA RAW TKAU AND IT WAS -- LA MIRADA. STUDENTS WERE CHEERING ON THE UNIFIED ATHLETES. IN THE VIDEO, IF IT PLAYS, WE HAD ONE OF OUR UNIFIED ATHLETES, HIS NAME IS JOHNNY, HE SCORED A BASKET AND THE STUDENTS WENT ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.

IT WAS A GREAT MEMORY FOR ALL OUR MONSOONS.

AND WE DID HAVE A HUGY -- HUGE EVENT, WE HAD A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING WITH THOSE WHO LEAD THE SENIOR SEMINAR AS WELL. IT WAS OVERALL A CELEBRATION WHERE SENIORS COULD REFLECT ON WHAT THEY WANT FOR THE FUTURE AND BOND FOR ONE OF OUR VERY FINAL TIMES ALTOGETHER.

AND WE DID HAVE OUR TRADITIONAL YEARLY RUN AROUND THE SCHOOL WHERE OUR ENTIRE SENIOR CLASS COLLECTIVELY DURING SNACK ALL RUN AROUND THE ENTIRE CAM PUGS. IT IS KIND OF JUST A FORM OF CELEBRATION FOR US WHICH IS REALLY FUN.

WE ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO THAT WHICH IS VERY NICE.

THIS LEAD ME BEING INTRODUCED TO A PROM THAT IS AN -- PROGRAM THAT IS AN ORGANIZATION FOR FUTURE HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.

I WAS ABLE TO COMPETE AND REPRESENT BELLFLOWER AT THE CONFERENCE THEY HELD IN SACRAMENTO.

THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT AND HEALTH OCCUPATION COURSE WENT HAND IN HAND AS WELL BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO USE THE KNOWLEDGE FROM ONE COURSE AND THE OTHER AND APPLY THEM WHENEVER WAS NEED -- NEEDED. ALL IN ALL THE THREE COURSES HAD A MAJOR IMPACT IN MY PATHWAY TOWARD OBTAINING MY BSN.

I ENTERED COLLEGE WITH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE AND STRENGTH -- STRENGTHENING MY RESUME WITH THE VOLUNTEER HOURS I DID THROUGH EACH OF THESE COURSES. WHEN APPLYING TO THE PROGRAMS, HAVING THESE ADDED SKILLS AND HEALTHCARE EXPOSURE IS INFLUENTIAL IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS.

HAVING THIS LICENSE CAN GIVE STUDENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET A JOB OUTSIDE OF HIGH SCHOOL THAT IS WITHIN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND WITH ALL OF THESE THREE COURSES PROVIDED TO STUDENTS, IT CAN PLAY A HUGE ROLE IN THE PATHWAY TOWARD A HEALTH CAREER LIKE IT DID MINE AND IT CONTINUES TO HAVE A HUGE ROLE. I WAS REALLY HAPPY TO GET TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT THEIR DAY-TO-DAY LIVES LOOKED LIKE ON THEIR CAMPUSES.

I LEARNED ABOUT HOW THE CREDITING PROGRAMS WORK.

IT WAS INFORMATIONAL FOR ME. AND I MET WITH TIA EWING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CAMPUS I KNOW THE LEAST -- OR I KNEW THE LEAST ABOUT BECAUSE SHE WAS EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE AND SHE ENLIGHTENED ME ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS AT LOS FLORES.

WE AGREE THAT LOS FLORES IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET.

MY COMPLEMENTS. I WAS IMPRESSED BY THEIR SCHOOL.

IT WAS A FIRST MUSICAL SINCE THE PANDEMIC HIT.

THE PRODUCTION QUALITY WAS STELLAR AND THE CAST WAS FANTASTIC AND THE SHOW WAS INCREDIBLY ENDEARING.

A SHOUT OUT TO BRIAN SAUPB TKERS AND THE TECH CREW AND THE WONDERFUL CAST OF STUDENTS AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE "SISTER ACT" AT BELLFLOWER. MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE MARINERS IN SHOW TIME PROGRAM. THEIR INSTRUCTOR HAD TO STEP AWAY FROM INSTRUCTION FOR SOME TIME FOR PERSONAL MATTERS AND THE ELECTED BOARDS OF THOSE PROGRAMS, THE STUDENTS WHO ARE IN THOSE PROGRAMS STEPPED UP AND THEY ACTUALLY CREATED LESSON PLANS FOR THE YOUNGER STUDENTS. THEY ARE ALREADY LOADED WITH AP CLASSES. IF THEIR LEADERS IN THEIR PROGRAMS, THEY ARE INVOLVED STUDENTS.

THEY HAD ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF SCHOOL SCHOOLWORK AND THEY CREATED LESSON PLANS. THEY TOOK ONE NOR -- ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF WORK AND I BELIEVE THEY DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR BEING BOTH TEACHER AND STUDENT AT THE SAME TIME.

THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC ININSTRUCTION IS LOOKING FOR NEW APPLICANTS TO SERVE ON THE STATE YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL. MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL WOULD ADVISE EDUCATIONAL POLICY MAKERS BY USING THE PERSPECTIVE AS STUDENTS AND HELP SHAPE THE LAW THAT'S COME OUT OF SACRAMENTO.

I AM HOPING FOR A YES VOTE. IF THEY GIVE US THE YES VOTE WE WILL COLLABORATE WITH L.A. COUNTY LIBRARY.

WE WILL USE THEIR TECHNOLOGIES LIKE SCANNERS AND PRINTERS TO REALLY MAKE OUR WEBSITE AS PROFESSIONAL AS POSSIBLE AND PROVIDE THAT RESOURCE OF LOCAL HISTORY TO BELLFLOWER RESIDENTS.

BELLFLOWER HAS 16 STUDENTS COMPETING IN THE LEADERSHIP AND SKILLS AREAS OF MEDICAL ASSISTING AND DESIGN.

SOME HAVE THREE STUDENTS COME PETTING IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND CABLING AND ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY AND MAYFAIR HAS 35 STUDENTS IN THE LEADERSHIP AND SKILL AREAS OF OUTSTANDING CHAPTER, PROMOTIONAL BULLETIN AND AMERICAN SPIRIT AND JOB SKILLS DEMONSTRATION, ENGINEERING AND EMPLOYMENT

APPLICATION PROCESSES AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGE CREED, CO2 DESIGNS AND ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING AND OTHERS AS THEY CONTINUE ON. WE WILL HAVE RESULTS TO SEE WHICH STUDENTS QUALIFY TO BE MOVING TO SKILLS USA STATE COMPETITION WHICH WILL BE OVER SPRING BREAK APRIL 12TH TO THE 16TH. I ALSO WANTED TO MENTION THAT THIS IS NOT TALKED ABOUT TOO MUCH, BUT IT IS A GREAT PROGRAM THREW KAISER PERMANENTE AND CORRECT ME IF I SAY IT WRONG, THE HYPOCRITE -- HYPOCRITISE CIRCLE.

KAISER HELD THE CIRCLE ORIENTATION NIGHT FOR 23 OF THE BELLFLOWER MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS.

IT CONSISTS OF FIVE EVENTS AND ALL SPONSORED BY KAISER PERMANENTE. BELLFLOWER MIDDLE SCHOOL APPLIED FOR THE PROGRAM, AND THIS IS THE ONLY MIDDLE SCHOOL THAT PROVIDED THE CIRCLE IN THE KAISER DOWNEY AREA.

ONE SCHOOL IS SELECTED EACH YEAR AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME BELLFLOWER MIDDLE SCHOOL HAS BEEN SELECTED.

THE NEXTY -- THE NEXT EVENT IS FEBRUARY 15TH.

THE REASON I BRING THIS UP IS IT IS A GREAT PROGRAM FOR OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TO START TO VENTURE INTO OPPORTUNITIES IN THE MEDICAL FIELD. AND LASTLY I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT WE HAD TALKED ABOUT THIS WITH ONE OF MY FORMER LYNNWOOD BOARD MEMBERS ABOUT THE EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM.

I REALIZE THAT BELLFLOWER HAS AN EARLY LINK PROGRAM.

THE BELLFLOWER PROGRAM IS A PROGRAM THAT SERVES 0 TO 5 YEARS OF AGE. IT CAN SERVE UP TO 24 STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS AND/OR CAREGIVERS.

IT IS DESIGNED TO HELP CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITY THAT'S DEVELOP COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL SKILLS. CURRENTLY AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE 20 FAMILIES WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE APPLICATION PROCESS AND HAVE JOINED THE PROGRAM. IT IS OFFERED FOUR DAYS A WEEK FOR THREE HOURS. PARENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SELECT THEIR LEVEL OF INVOLVEMENT AND THEIR SCHEDULED PERMITS. I AM LOSING MY VOICE.

EACH MONTH ON A DESIGNATED FRIDAY THEY WILL PLAN A STEM-RELATED ACTIVITY. I WANTED TO SHARE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THERE ARE SLOTS AVAILABLE ALSO IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH I WANTED TO READ A POEM BY MAYA ANGELO.

IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS I ATTENDED A LOT OF AWESOME EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY. I ATTENDED VISION NIGHT AT SOMERSET HIGH SCHOOL. STUDENT BOARD MEMBER MENDOZA WAS ALSO THERE. I MET WITH PRINCIPAL HIGGINS AND HE GAVE ME A TOUR OF THE CAMPUS AND THE CLASSROOMS. I LOVED THE PROGRAM I SAW THERE. SOMETIMES THE CONTINUATION SCHOOLS ARE THOUGHT OF IN A CERTAIN WAY AND THAT'S DEFINITELY NOT WHAT I SAW. I THOUGHT IT WAS AMAZING.

I LOVE THE WORKSHOP. THAT WAS MY FAVORITE PART.

I THOUGHT IT WAS INNOVATIVE AND COOL.

I LOVE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO DO PE AND THEY CAN BUILD AND STUDY ROBOTICS AND THE CORE CURRICULUM WAS COOL BECAUSE THEY INTEGRATED A LOT OF TECHNOLOGY INTO THEIR CLASSROOM.

I REALLY APPRECIATED SEEING THAT.

I MET THEIR COUNSELOR AND WELLNESS CENTER AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. I ENJOYED MY NIGHT WITH THEM.

I OFFEND -- ATTENDED NAVIGATION NIGHT.

PRINCIPAL LUNDGREN WENT WITH US TO TOUR THE CAMPUS AND WE SAW PROGRAMS IN EFFECT. WE SAW A LOT OF POSITIVE THINGS ON CAMPUS. WE SAW THINGS THAT COULD BE BETTER AND DEFINITELY LOOKING AT THE CLASSROOMS AND THE SCIENCE LAB I CAN SEE WHERE WE CAN MAKE IMPROVEMENTS IN SOME OF THOSE AREAS. WE SAW A LOT OF THE CTE AND CAL APS IN MOTION AND I LOVE THE HANDS ON SKILL CLASSES THE MOST.

I LOVE THE AUTO SHOP, THE CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM WAS AMAZING. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS.

THE HEALTH, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WAS AWESOME AS WELL.

WE VISITED THE WELLNESS CENTER AND SPENT TIME WITH THE COUNSELOR AND GOT A LOT OF GOOD FEEDBACK.

AND I ENJOYED SEEING OUR COACHES REPRESENTING AND JUST HAVING STATIONS FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT WERE ATTENDING THAT NIGHT TO PROMOTE THEIR PROGRAMS. THAT WAS AWESOME TOO. I HAD A MEETING WITH DR. DRATI AND THE DEAN OF CLIMATE AND CULTURE MRS. CASEY.

AND WE COLLABORATED ON HOW WE CAN CULTIVATE THE BEST CLIMATE THAT WE CAN IN OUR DISTRICT. AND JUST TRYING TO BRAINSTORM AND COME UP WITH IDEAS. AND I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE COLLABORATION WITH OUR EDUCATIONAL PARTNERS IN THE FUTURE. I ATTENDED "SHREK, THE MUSICAL" AND THAT WAS AWESOME. I THINK MR. SAUNDERS DID AN AMAZING JOB WITH THE STUDENTS. I LOVED THE PERFORMANCE.

THE KIDS WERE SO INSPIRATIONAL AND THEY ARE JUST SUCH TALENTED ACTORS AND SINGERS. I JOKED WITH MY DAD -- I TRIED TO GET MY DAUGHTER TO GO AND SHE WOULDN'T GO.

I TRIED TO GET MY DAD TO GO AND HE WOULDN'T GO.

I SENT VIDEOS AND I SAID YOU SHOULD HAVE COME AND THEY SAID, WOW, THEY ARE AMAZING AND THEY WERE.

IT WAS ENTERTAINING AND THE SETS WERE BEAUTIFUL AND THE DESIGNS.

I WAS GIVEN A TOUR OF THE DRAGON AT THE END BY -- IT WAS CREATED BY A FORMER STUDENT IN THE CAL APS PROGRAM.

AND IT WAS REALLY COOL THE WAY THEY MADE THIS DRAGON AND SO I TOOK PICTURES AND WAS GEEKED OUT AS WELL.

IT WAS VERY INNOVATIVE. I REALLY APPRECIATED IT BECAUSE IT IS EDUCATING MYSELF AND THEN I CAN COME BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND EDUCATE YOU GUYS AS WELL AND STAY IN TOUCH WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING. I ATTENDED PTA COUNCIL.

IT IS NICE TO HEAR ABOUT THE UPCOMING EVENTS.

I IMPLORE YOU TO BECOME MEMBERS AND TO REALLY, LIKE, WORK WITH THEM AND SUPPORT OUR FAMILIES AND KIDS AT THEIR NEXT MEETING THEY ARE HONORING 24 STUDENTS FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ARTWORK AND GIVING OUT AWARDS INCLUDING THE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE AND THE AWARD OF MERIT AND THE AWARD OF RECOGNITION.

I WILL CONTINUE TO PROMOTE PTA. I TOLD YOU GUYS I WILL BE THERE FOR THEM AND I HOPE WE CAN GET MORE INVOLVEMENT FROM OUR COMMUNITY. AND BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SICK THE LAST WEEK AND I -- I DON'T WATCH A LOT OF TV, BUT HAVE I BEEN WATCHING A LOT OF TV, MORE THAN USUAL.

I WANT TO SAY AND MY HEART AND THOUGHTS GO OUT TO THE PEOPLE IN TURKEY. IT IS TRAGIC WHAT IS HAPPENING.

I HAVE BEEN CRYING FOR PRETTY MUCH A WEEK AND LIVING IN CALIFORNIA I JUST -- IT REMINDS ME THAT WE ALSO NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE QUALITY EARTHQUAKE PROCEDURES AND THAT WE HAVE THOSE IN PLACE FOR OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF AS WELL.

SHE HAD A BLAST. I DIDN'T GET THE COOL GEEKED OUT PICTURES LIKE AMY WITH HER HEAD IN THE DRAGON, BUT IT WAS REALLY FUN TO DO STILL. I WENT TO THE LAKEWOOD SIR OPTIMIST LIVE YOUR DREAM EVENT AND A PLUG FOR THEM, THEY HAVE THE LAKEWOOD RUN COMING UP AND IT SUPPORTS THE LIVE YOUR DREAM EVENT THAT GOES TOWARD SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND IT HELPS THE LAKEWOOD SHERIFF STATION. IT IS REALLY GREAT.

IT IS A 5K. IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO GO OUT THERE AND RUN AROUND THE CITY. IT IS REALLY FUN.

THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO SOMERSET HIGH SCHOOL AND I GOT TO FLY SOME DRONES WITH THE STUDENTS AND THAT WAS FUN.

I AM KIND OF A DRONE GEEK MYSELF AND SO IT WAS FUN SHOWING THEM THINGS THERE. WHAT ELSE?

DRATI TALKED TO THE GROUP AND I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU AND YOUR WORK AND GETTING OUT IN THE COMMUNITY AND REALLY TAKING YOUR LISTENING TOUR TO THE FULLEST AND GETTING OUT THERE. I WAS IMPRESSED BY THE DEDICATION OF THE STUDENTS WORKING SO HARD. A LOT OF THEM HAVE REALLY GOOD STANDINGS ACADEMICALLY.
